Vapor Tight Outlet Boxes

Over the last couple of days I returned over 80 electrical outlet and light boxes and purchased the new air-tight versions. These weren’t readily available last year, and even now I had to go to five different suppliers to get everything I needed.

I sourced these boxes from Lowes, two different Home Depot locations, Amazon and Gordon Electrical Supply.

The integrated gasket and flange sits behind the drywall, creating a vapor-tight seal.

There is also some foam on the backside where the wires enter the box, but I will spray foam over all those spots after I finish roughing them in.

This will save me a lot of time and materials, as I won’t have to go around every outlet and apply acoustic sealant, which frankly wouldn’t even work as well.
