Supply Plenum

This week I built a supply plenum out of duct board to fit in the odd shaped and very tight space above the air handler.

The box is constructed entirely from duct board, HVAC tape and mastic aside from the steel duct collars.

After a few times back and forth, the final shape of the box was rather irregular.

Getting this in and out was very tricky and the box shape required about 5 revisions so I did it a lot.

I was able to avoid it making contact with the steel structure above, but it was close.

I used a corner support, but the sweep is so broad, it didn’t seem to do much.

I then used flex duct between the ports and the plenum to connect it.
