Yesterday the insulation installer came by and put some paper and plastic down to avoid overspray making too much of a mess.
Early this morning he sprayed the wall cavities with at least 1″ of closed cell foam, which adds at least R7 of insulation and provides a vapor barrier and air-seal.
He’s going to come by and do the ceiling once I’ve closed it up by gluing in sheets of rigid foam from below.
The next layer of insulation, which will probably be fiberglass batts, will go in after electrical and HVAC are roughed in.
The foam is impressive, it’s very stiff. In fact, once applied, it makes the wall stronger.
