Today I setup my new 34″ ultra-wide monitor as part of my temporary music production setup. It’s the first curved monitor I’ve ever owned. I’ve not really been excited about curved TVs because it makes the viewing angle so bad on portions of the screen unless you sit right in front of it. But computer monitors are different, as they tend to be used by only one person.
When the control room is complete, this monitor will sit above a Presonus StudioLive 32 board. The ultra-wide aspect ratio should help ensure I can have a lot of screen without making it too difficult to see over the monitor and out the control-room window. This is a common problem in computer-based studios. I’m hoping I’ve found a good middle ground.
